In the current boxing community, Ryan Garcia is one of the standout figures who consistently captures public attention. The 26-year-old American boxer is scheduled to face Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero in just a few months. However, before that fight, Garcia drew significant attention after a verbal confrontation with his former rival, Devin Haney.

Ryan Garcia is set to headline a highly anticipated boxing event featuring notable fighters such as Devin Haney, Teofimo Lopez, and many others. Before the event, they held a press conference last night in Los Angeles, California. As they prepared for their respective fights, Garcia and Haney engaged in a fierce exchange of words. Interestingly, one statement from ‘KingRy’ even left the onlookers in splits.

Ostarine don’t protect you from blocking a left hook. You got hit like a thousand times. You got dribbled off the canvas.

In April 2024, Garcia and Devin squared off in a boxing match that initially resulted in a win for ‘KingRy.’ However, the result was subsequently turned to a no-contest after the Golden Boy Promotions fighter tested positive for prohibited substances.

This event escalated the rivalry between the two American boxers, resulting in considerable hostility. Consequently, Haney and his team pursued legal action against Garcia, citing battery, fraud, and breach of contract.

Additionally, after testing positive for banned substances, ‘KingRy’ received a one-year suspension from the New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC). Following the relentless mockery and scrutiny he endured after the fight with Haney, Garcia is now eager to make a strong comeback. In the weeks leading up to his scheduled fight, he even issued a fierce warning to his opponent.

Ryan Garcia vows to knock out Rolly Romero and seek for Devin Haney rematch

Since Turki Alalshikh took over Ring Magazine to revitalize it, he has played a key role in enhancing the reputation of the boxing community. As part of his vision, Alalshikh has announced the first boxing card for Ring Magazine, with Ryan Garcia set to headline the event. Despite Garcia’s involvement in various controversies, he is still considered one of the most promising boxing superstars.

As a result, Garcia gained considerable attention by teasing exhibition fights during his suspension. Notably, in December 2024, ‘KingRy’ was scheduled to fight Rukiya Anpo in Tokyo, Japan. However, the match was canceled due to a hand injury he sustained. Now that Garcia has recovered, he is set to make a strong comeback against Rolly Romero.

I’m not taking him lightly or anything like that. I’m still going to train my best. But everybody wants to see the rematch. That’s where my heart’s at. The left hook is the punch that will dispatch Romero and deliver the Haney rematch. Every fight is different. For me, you’re going to see more of a pure boxer. You’re going to see something like what happened to Fonseca. I know I’m the better fighter and Imma knock him out…

Interestingly, similar to ‘KingRy’, his next opponent Romero has made a name for himself in the boxing world. Additionally, both fighters seem to harbor a slight rivalry towards one another. With that in mind, it will be intriguing to find out who will emerge victorious between Garcia and Romero in Times Square, New York on May 5.
