Ryan Garcia scripts a phenomenal comeback against Luke Campbell; calls out Gervonta Davis in the post-fight interview
Ryan Garcia, once again put on a clinic, this time against the highly experienced Luke Campbell. Despite being knocked down for the first time in his career, in the second round, the American came back like a phoenix knocking the Brit out with a vicious body shot in the seventh round. The win saw King Ryan, clinch the vacant WBC interim lightweight title. He is currently 21-0 in his professional boxing career.
Following his victory, the lightweight division has been thrown wide open, with other superstars like Gervonta Davis and Devin Haney in the fray.
Ryan Garcia lives up to his nickname!
Going into the fight – it was the Englishman who was the aggressor. Luke Campbell, then, in the second round, caused something the world hadn’t witnessed before, Yes! He knocked down Ryan Garcia with a big left hand. The American, however quickly got back to his feet. The third and fourth rounds, then saw both the fighters dominating equally. But, towards the end of the fifth round, Ryan Garcia almost ended the fight with an insane combo. However, Campbell was saved by the bell.
Garcia, then completed his remarkable turnaround in the seventh round, with a powerful body shot – quite similar to the ones we usually see in his body-shot challenge. Luke Campbell, went down on both the knees, ultimately failing to get up.
KingRy calls out the ‘Tank’!
At the post fight interview, Ryan Garcia, called out unbeaten four-time world champion Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis. He said, “Man, I really want to be a man of my word, I wanna fight Tank. I know people are worried, you know about that one but I am ready.” Garcia also mentioned that Gervonta Davis had troubles when he faced Leo Santa Cruz, recently.
