Following the event, Haney, known as ‘The Dream,’ and his father, Bill Haney, verbally criticized Garcia, accusing him of avoiding their rematch.

This incident intensified the rivalry between the two American fighters, leading to significant animosity. As a result, Haney and his team filed a lawsuit against Garcia, citing battery, fraud, and breach of contract.

Along with that, Team Devin Haney also requested a rematch against the Golden Boy Promotions boxer. However, due to the complications surrounding the lawsuit initiated by ‘The Dream,’ Garcia and his team were unwilling to give Devin another chance to fight him. Consequently, Bill Haney directed verbal jabs at KingRy last weekend following The Ring Magazine Awards.
