Scottie Scheffler did not seem too pleased with his performance on Friday. After making a bogey on the final hole during the 2nd round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational, he tossed his ball into the water.
The World No.1 came into this tournament on the back of having mixed rounds. In his previous three starts, he had struggled in the first round.
At the Genesis Invitational, Scheffler was 5-over par after the first 10 holes in the first round. As the play got suspended due to weather, he found himself dead last in the leaderboard.
He eventually did come back on Friday and extended his cut streak to 68. After that, he went on to finish T12 with scores of 66 and 65 in the third and fourth rounds.

This week, he did not have any such trouble as he posted a 2-under par score on Thursday. On Friday, the golfer was left a bit frustrated with his performance at the Bay Hill Club.
Following a bogey on the 2nd hole, he made back-to-back birdies on the 4th and 5th holes. From there, he made 10 consecutive pars. A birdie on the 16th hole was followed with another par on the 17th hole.
At the par-4 18th hole, Scheffler missed a 10-foot putt to make another par. After tapping the ball from close range for a bogey, the 4-time major champion would do something that left many people stunned.
He would pick up his ball and toss it into the water. The frustration was clearly visible on the face of the American international.

Scottie Scheffler sounded off on the greens at Bay Hill following Round 2 of Arnold Palmer Invitational
Scottie Scheffler did not have the best of endings on Friday as he missed a close-range putt for a par. Following his 1-under par round, the 29-year-old sounded off on the greens at the Bay Hill Club.

The greens at Arnie’s place caused trouble for many players. Several stars, including leader Daniel Berger, would call out the playing surface and express that there was “no friction.”
While speaking to the Associated Press, Scheffler did not hold back either. He expressed that the greens were “dead” and that they were at mercy of the winds.
They’re already dead. I’m not sure how much deader they can get. Like 15 is completely dead. … There’s no friction. When the ball starts rolling, you’re at the mercy of the wind and the bumps.

On the par-4 15th hole, Scheffler would find his ball in a plugged lie. His second shot would fall into the bunker. While playing it from the bunker, his chip shot would roll away from the hole and into the rough.
He would then hit another chip. This time, the ball would roll into the hole for a par.

Scheffler faced some difficulties in this course last year as well. During his title defense, he expressed that the fairways were soft but the greens were concrete.
He will need another one of his top performances to pull off the win from this position. He will tee off with Harris English in the third round at 12:25 pm Eastern Time on Saturday.
