Scottie Scheffler won again on Sunday. The World No.1 came back from behind and successfully chased down Robert MacIntyre to clinch the 2025 BMW Championship. His latest triumph left sports stars Patrick Mahomes and LeBron James in awe.

Scheffler, the 4-time major champion, started the day 4 shots behind MacIntyre. The Scottish golfer, who had shot scores of 62, 64 and 68 in the first three rounds, was seen as the favorite to walk away as the winner.

However, Scheffler erased a four-shot deficit in five holes as his opponent started having trouble on the course. MacIntyre made his first birdie on the 16th hole.

Scheffler did experience some difficulties with his short game late in the round. MacIntyre pulled within one shot of the American golfer on the 17th hole. Scheffler would stun him and the world with an incredible 81-foot chip to take a 2-shot lead.

From there on it was Scheffler’s game to lose. He would finish the round with a score of 67 and 2 shots ahead of runner-up MacIntyre to claim his 5th win of the season.

Scheffler’s incredible performance caught the attention of some sporting greats. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes dubbed him a “crazy man” while reacting to his win.

Meanwhile, LeBron James, who has taken up golf in recent weeks, lauded him and claimed that he was “cold” out there on the field. In another tweet, the 4-time NBA Champion expressed that he was in a “crazy zone” at the moment.

Following this win, Scheffler took home another pay cheque of $3.6 million. He will now head into the Tour Championship next week as the heavy favorite and go back-to-back as the FedEx Cup champion.

Scottie Scheffler matches another Tiger Woods record following BMW Championship win

Scottie Scheffler just cannot be stopped at the moment. Following a slow start to the season, the golfer picked up his 5th win of the season by coming from behind and capturing the BMW Championship. He thus tied another record of Tiger Woods.

Scheffler’s dominance at the moment has often been compared to the dominance of Woods. The 29-year-old once again found himself being compared to the 15-time major champion.

His win on Sunday made him just the 2nd player in the last 40 years to have 5 or more wins in back-to-back seasons. He becomes the first player since Woods (2006-07) to win at least 5 times on the Tour in two successive seasons.

Woods won 6 times in 2005, 8 times in 2006, and 7 times in 2007. During this run, he won 4 major championships.

Golf analyst reacts to Phil Mickelson’s ‘hot take’ on Scottie Scheffler earlier this year

At the start of the season, Phil Mickelson dropped a ‘hot take‘ regarding Scottie Scheffler. During the weather delay at The Players Championship, the 6-time major champion claimed that Scheffler will not win until the Ryder Cup this year. A golf analyst would react to this following Scheffler’s 5th win on Sunday.

On X, a user would ask Golf Channel analyst Brandel Chamblee whether the take from Mickelson earlier this year was the worst golf take of all time. Chamblee, who has been a huge critic of Mickelson and LIV Golf, would drop a simple 4-word reaction and expressed that the HyFlyers GC captain was always a ‘bold‘ player.

Phil was always bold.

In another tweet, Chamblee would also claim that the Player of the Year race was over. Despite Rory McIlroy winning the Players Championship, The Masters, and completing the career Grand Slam, according to Chamblee, Scheffler has that award in his bag.
