AJ Styles and Cody Rhodes tore the house down in the opening match of Clash at the Castle. The two Georgia wrestlers beat the living hell out of each other. During the “I Quit” bout, the Scottish crowd made its voice heard. Most notably, the fans in the OVO Hydro Arena boo’ed and chanted “F*CK YOU, AJ” as Styles gained momentum.

The Phenomenal One brutally attacked his adversary outside the ring. After delivering a DVD and a brainbuster on the announce table, he sent Rhodes flying into the ring announcer’s area. He didn’t stop there, as he insulted Mama Rhodes, who was in attendance for her son’s battle. The Undisputed WWE Champion suffered a massive blow as he bled.

This enraged the Glasgow crowd, who hurled insults at the veteran wrestler. However, AJ Styles basked in the negative reaction, continuing to beat down Cody Rhodes with multiple weapons. At one point, he handcuffed The American Nightmare as he looked close to winning the title. In fact, he continued to mock Mama Rhodes and ended up receiving a slap for his attitude.

In the end, Dusty’s son turned the tables by handcuffing Styles to the ring ropes. Despite numerous steel chair shots to the body, the former TNA World Champion wouldn’t quit. Nevertheless, this came to an end when Rhodes teased hitting the #1 contender with steel steps. As expected, the crowd went wild for the finish and celebrated the champ’s successful title defense at Clash at the Castle.
