Sean Brady made a massive statement at UFC London, dominating former champion Leon Edwards. Known for his high-level grappling, Brady showcased his skill set and submitted the former champion in the fourth round. With that, he is now the #1 ranked fighter in the welterweight division and aims to fight for the title soon.

However, with Jack Della Maddalena fighting for the title and Shavkat Rakhmonov being a top contender, Brady might have to wait. In the meantime, other welterweight fighters, especially legends such as Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington, have called out Brady. In a recent interview, the Philly fighter discussed them and hilariously shut down both the callouts.

Should we(Brady on fighting Usman)? I just beat the guy you beat you twice….Same thing with him(Colby Covington). He’s just a wrestler. Leon took you down multiple times. Did you see what I just did to Leon? I would f**ing kill him. He f**** sucks. Colby, you are a p****.

Brady expressed how he asked Usman for a fight multiple times, but got shut down every time. Similarly, he got rejected by Covington, who dismissed him as an unworthy challenger despite his growing reputation and dominant performances. But now, the tables have turned, and the Philly native is finally ready to call the shots for his next opponent.

Brady’s victory over the reigning champion puts him in a prime position for a high-profile matchup. A fight against Covington or Usman could be a logical next step, given his dominant grappling and ability to neutralize strikers. Whether the UFC books those fights remains to be seen, but Brady has arrived as a legitimate threat.

UFC veteran reviews Sean Brady’s win against Leon Edwards

Leon Edwards was overlooking Sean Brady, focusing instead on Belal Muhammad and his expected title fight after a routine victory. However, his overconfidence led him to underestimate Brady, failing to recognize the danger his opponent posed inside the cage. As a result, Edwards suffered a devastating loss, completely altering his trajectory and leaving his championship aspirations in serious doubt.

Despite being regarded as one of the best strikers, the UK native surprisingly got dominated on the feet by Brady. After that, Brady followed Belal Muhammad’s strategy, relentlessly taking Edwards down and completely overwhelming him with dominant ground control. In a recent interview, UFC veteran Michael Chiesa praised Brady’s impeccable strength, emphasizing his ability to impose his will effortlessly.

There’s no guy you can bring in to emulate the strength of Sean Brady, because you would have to find a guy that’s like 210 pounds. He’s that strong. I remember the first time he wrapped his hands around my waist when we fought, I was just like, ‘Holy crap. (Paul) Felder totally was right.’ He has like mutant-like strength. I wasn’t surprised.

Brady defeated Michael Chiesa by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 198. Brady dominated early with grappling, controlling Chiesa on the ground. Chiesa mounted a late striking comeback, but couldn’t secure a finish. The hard-fought victory led him to fight Muhammad where he ultimately lost his undefeated tag. However, now with his latest victory the Philly native is looking forward to taking his revenge.

Can Sean Brady become the new champion?

Sean Brady has elite grappling, relentless pressure, and a dominant mindset, making him a legitimate contender. If he sharpens his skills and game plans well, he has the potential to become UFC champion in the future.

Belal Muhammad is confident about defeating Jack Della Maddalena next and will probably fight Shavkat Rakhmonov after that. If the champion survives both challengers, he might get to fight Brady again, but this time for the title. It will be interesting to see how the rematch goes between two tough fighters.
