Sean O’Malley and Merab Dvalishvili’s showdown is up next. After much build-up and back and forth, the two bantamweights will finally clash this September at the Sphere in Las Vegas. However, just weeks before the event Merab Dvalishvili has already put himself in potential legal trouble. Here is what happened:

Sean O’Malley recently sat down and addressed the situation in a recent video on his YouTube channel. ‘Suga’ asked for the information of the fan who got in trouble with Dvalishvili because he found it funny. But he also sent a message to all his fans asking them to quit making fun of Dvalishvili for a while.

Attention, all 'Sugar' Sean O'Malley fans, will you guys, please from the bottom, please quit making fun of Merab. He can't handle it. He's insecure.

Earlier at the Craig Jones Invitational, Merab Dvalishvili confronted a heckler during the event. The UFC bantamweight contender was seated in the VIP section when he noticed a fan taunting him after a picture of Sean O’Malley was displayed. Dvalishvili jumped over the barrier and approached the heckler, pulling his hair in response to the insults before security intervened.

The fan appeared apologetic as the situation was de-escalated, and no further incident occurred. However, fans and O’Malley pointed out that the Georgian could be charged with assault. This happened just a month before Dvalishvili’s scheduled title fight against O’Malley at UFC 306.

Sean O’Malley speaks on Dricus Du Plessis’ grappling skills

Dricus Du Plessis successfully defended his middleweight title against Israel Adesanya at UFC 305. Sean O’Malley shared his thoughts on the South African’s performance. He praised Du Plessis for his ability to mix striking with grappling, which led to his victory over Israel Adesanya.

O’Malley emphasized that while Du Plessis’ grappling was key in this fight, it might not be as effective against future opponents like Robert Whittaker or Khamzat Chimaev. He argued that the two have way stronger takedown defense. ‘Suga’ believes these matchups could challenge Du Plessis more than Adesanya did.

I don’t think for the next couple of fights it is going to be that big of an advantage, but he is so well rounded at mixing it up. When you f**king crack someone so hard they make mistakes on the ground.

The South African has expressed his desire for Robert Whittaker to receive the next title shot. The former champion is already set for a bout against Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 308. There is a busy queue for the title shot in the middleweight division. Thus it will be interesting to see what happens next.
