Sean Strickland is known for being one of the biggest loudmouths on the current UFC roster. The former middleweight champion likes trash-talking and uses it to hype most of his fights. However, the fighter has often disappointed fans inside the octagon with his jab-style performance despite the big talk.

Strickland recently did an interview with Brett Okamoto where the fighter was asked about his intent. The host talked about how many fans find Strickland’s fights boring due to his safe approach. While responding, ‘Tarzan’ mentioned how fighting top fighters takes so much focus and determination.

It’s like World class-level striking meets World class-level striking. You go watch the pinnacle of any sport…..you bring anybody who’s not a top world champion, it’s easy peasy. You bring in an elite-level striker who’s been training their entire life for this moment, it’s a chess match.

Strickland’s title fight against Israel Adesanya was quite entertaining as fans saw him marching forward and destroy the former champion. His championship defense against Dricus Du Plessis was a brawl that ended controversially. However, his last fight against Paulo Costa was a huge letdown for fans.

Ahead of the fight, Strickland promised a war, but Costa just ran throughout the fight. However, fans as well as other pros turned on the American fighter for failing to deliver. Going into UFC 312, it will be interesting to see whether the ‘Tarzan’ brings any changes to his fighting style.

Sean Strickland predicts his upcoming fight with Dricus Du Plessis

A year after his title loss, Sean Strickland has the opportunity to get back his middleweight title. The stage is set as he and Dricus Du Plessis get ready to entertain the Sydney crowd at UFC 312. Going into the fight, the American superstar is confident about doing what he failed to do last time.

Du Plessis, on the other hand, is as chill as ever and has plans to continue his title reign. In the last fight, Strickland blamed the judges for robbing him, but he aims for a clear victory at UFC 312. In a recent interview, the title challenger talked about how the fight could go.

These judges, real bad. They don’t understand the art of striking…They want you to ride the short bus. I don’t fight that way. I’m an intelligent man. I like to use the brain. If the people want it, the judges want it. We’re just gonna go and put them hands up and give it to them.

A few days ago, Strickland asked the champion to sign a no-wrestling pact and fight like ‘men.’ However, Du Plessis was quick to dismiss it, and plans to use everything he can to put an end to this rivalry. As the fight night gets close, fans are eagerly waiting for the press conference and trash-talking that could take place between the fighters.
