Watch: Serena Williams Trains With Grigor Dimitrov Ahead of Miami Open 2021
American veteran Serena Williams is definitely of the biggest icon in the sport. Although after bowing out of the Australian Open semi-finals, will next play at the 2021 Miami Open, which starts during the third week of March.
In 2020, the event was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, whereas Williams had withdrawn from the tournament in 2019, citing a left knee injury.
Not surprising, in a career spanning over two decades, Williams has won an impressive eight titles at the Miami Open. Recently, the American uploaded an Instagram video of her practicing with the Bulgarian tennis star and friend Grigor Dimitrov.

Ahead of Miami Open, Serena Williams and Grigor Dimitrov were seen practicing together. They have been good friends for years now and were seen practicing some groundstrokes.
It wasn’t the first time the duo has practiced together. Williams has hit the practice court with Dimitrov on many occasions, including during the 2019 Australian Open and Rome Masters the same year.
In an instagram post, Serena Williams posted a video of her and Dimitrov practicing and captioned it: “Just a casual hit @grigordimitrov”.
Dimitrov lost in the quarterfinals at Melbourne Park to Aslan Karatsev after being hampered by a back injury. The former World No.3 appeared in imperious form as he defeated Dominic Thiem in the fourth round but suffered an injury before his quarterfinal match.
Meanwhile, Williams lost in the semifinals to the eventual champion Naomi Osaka at the 2021 Australian Open. The 39-year-old got tearful during the post-match conference over having lost another chance to equal Margaret Court’s record of winning 24 Grand Slam titles.
Both Dimitrov and Williams will be seen in action at the Miami Open.
