Serena Williams, the tennis superstar, is the brand ambassador for high end shoes and accessories brand Stuart Weitzman. In their new ad campaign she is on screen with her three year old daughter Olympia Ohanian. Serena lovingly calls her daughter ‘mini me’. Olympia’s father is Reddit cofounder Alexis Ohanian.
In their new campaign called “ Footsteps to Follow” the cute little girl is seen trying on the shoes of her mother. Speaking to the media on the sidelines, Serena said it’s not necessary Olympia becomes a tennis player, but she should always do what’s best for her.
In Serena’s own words, “I would definitely call Olympia my mini-me. She is mini Serena. She’s so cute, and she’s so fun,” says Williams.
“I don’t know if I hope if Olympia follows in my footsteps. I want her to do whatever she wants to do and what’s best for her.” concluded Serena.
What next for Serena on the tennis court?
Serena Williams made a tearful exit last month from the Australian Open 2021. In the semi finals of the event she was trounced by the eventual Champion Naomi Osaka, 6-3 6-4. Many had speculated that there might be a chance she might just retire.
But thank God she didn’t take any such impulsive call and now seems to be in a much better mental frame. She is next scheduled to compete at the Miami Open, and ahead of that she was seen practicing with Grigor Dimitrov. Serena had won the Miami open back in 2015 and will be ready to win it one more time come this 22nd March when the event starts.
