Serena Williams does not want her life to be separate from her sister Venus Williams as she likes being “codependent”
Serena Williams shared a great relationship with her sister Venus Williams on the court and does not want it to end in retirement.

The Williams sisters ruled the WTA tour for more than two decades. Serena Williams and Venus Williams shared many titles among themselves. Although the younger Williams sister won more Grand Slam titles, it never changed the equation of their relationship and Serena still likes to be codependent on her sister.
In a recent, Serena, after being named the global Woman of the Year, talked about her bond with sister Venus. The 23-time singles Grand Slam champion said that in the lonely tennis world, she always had her sister to rely upon.
The 43-year-old further said that she does not want her life to be separate from her sister’s.
Serena is so dependent on Venus that whenever they are in the same city, she does not book her hotel until her sister does it so that they can live together.
Serena Williams highlights problems around maternity leaves
As a mother of two, Serena Williams knows how it feels after childbirth for working women. While she had the luxury to take as much break as needed, Williams highlighted that most women fight for maternity leave and that she wants to change it.
The former WTA ace then talked about the need to have a few male voices on her side, like her husband Alexis Ohanian. Williams said that women’s voices go unheard even if they scream at the top of their lungs but men hear other men’s voices, which is why she was lucky to have a partner who does it for her.
In her fight for equal pay and paid leave for working women, Williams became the executive producer of a documentary film about paid leave. It is currently in development by Glamour Studios and is directed by Jessica Dimmock and based on Glamour’s “28 Days” paid-leave project.
