After pocketing the $6 million from the Six Kings Slam, Jannik Sinner declared that money was not the sole reason behind his participation in the lucrative exhibition event in Riyadh. Sinner had stated that he wanted to test himself in a tournament that featured probably the best tennis players.

Serena Williams‘ former coach Rennae Stubbs took a dig at Sinner, as her comment implied that she thinks Sinner simply lied. When Carlos Alcaraz, who was the runner-up at the Six Kings Slam, was asked the same question, he admitted that he would be lying if he said he did not play for the money.

Veteran player Stan Wawrinka laughed at Sinner’s answer while Alexander Bublik, after crashing out of the Paris Masters, seemingly took a subtle dig at the Italian. Stubbs joined the discussion and praised Sinner for his being ‘so trusted and politically correct’ and thinks the 23-year-old wants to communicate like Roger Federer. But Stubbs wanted Sinner to accept that the $6 million prize money also attracted him.

I, want to say to him: ‘Listen, Jannik, I love you, but you can’t add a tournament to your schedule.’ Just like Carlos Alcaraz said: ‘Of course, I went for the money.’ Jannik, I know you want to be like Roger Federer with a smooth communication, but sometimes you just have to tell the truth: ‘, Yes, it was interesting, but we were all paid well and that’s why I went.’

After winning the Six Kings Slam, Sinner recently withdrew from the ongoing Paris Masters due to an illness.

Former player declares Jannik Sinner will face a ban

Jannik Sinner was initially declared innocent in the failed drug tests case, but as the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) in September demanded a ban in its appeal before the Court of Arbitration of Sports (CAS), former World No. 49 Daniele Bracciali thinks CAS’ verdict will be against Sinner.

How will the Sinner case end? Unfortunately, knowing the environment of WADA and ITIA, I believe that a disqualification will almost certainly arrive.

Daniele Bracciali told Mowmag

Bracciali also thinks banning players even though they have not consumed a drug to perform better is not right, as he believes ‘objective responsibility’ in this case is a ‘real scam’. The 46-year-old also said disqualifying a player like Sinner would be a ‘dirty trick’.
