The 2020 Formula 1 season, was by many means one of the most challenging seasons for the drivers as well as for the entire staff. Amid the entire compact season, Sakhir Grand Prix stood as one of the most unexpected and impressive races over a decade that the fanatics would’ve witnessed. Two drivers surely made their way through to impress a lot of people in that particular race. George Russell and Sergio Perez.  

The latter won the race wherein a top 5 finish also seemed out of sights for him in the initial stage. Russell on the other hand was eye raiser throughout that raise, he seemed to emerge as the winner. But an unusual Mercedes Blinder left Russell a bit short-handed to overtake Perez in the last moments of the race. After the race on one hand, the Mexican Driver was crying out of joy. On the other hand, lied on the lawn was a young Mercedes driver who wanted to go back in time to rectify the faults.

Cherishing the wild race, Formula 1 recently posted an inside story to Perez’s incredible race win in Bahrain on social media. And the Mexican just couldn’t stop himself from reacting to the post.

It’s worth watching it again,” he wrote. Eventually, Russell joined the conversation and replied to the race winner’s comments. “No thanks,” the Briton jokingly reacted. 

The Sakhir Grand Prix wasn’t entirely about the race, but more about Perez and Russell. Prior to the start of the weekend, the two drivers had an identical goal, which was to impress their desired top-field teams. 

On one hand, the Mexican had a pile of pressure hovering over him, which was kindled by the Racing Point sacking. With the season almost reaching its business end, he had to deliver his best in the race to impress Red Bull Racing. 

On the other hand, the young Briton had finally received a golden opportunity from Mercedes amid a static career in Williams to portray the talent he possesses.
