Sergio Perez has showcased his talent in Formula 1 since making his debut in 2011, achieving multiple Grand Prix victories over the years. From 2020 to 2023, he experienced one of his best runs with Red Bull, finishing consistently in the top three.
His performances made him a valuable asset for the team throughout those seasons. However, in 2024, Perez encountered a significant performance slump, struggling to score points effectively for Red Bull. This allowed McLaren to snatch the lead in the Constructors’ Championship from Red Bull.
In the recent US GP in Austin, Sergio Perez struggled with his car’s balance and setup. In contrast, his teammate Max Verstappen enjoyed a strong weekend, thanks to some new upgrades.
The next race in Mexico is Checo’s home event and he is excited to compete there. His father, Antonio Perez, praised his son’s performance despite the challenges he faced throughout the season. He emphasized that the best is still yet to come for the 35-year-old.
The best of Sergio is yet to come. I am sure that Sergio will eventually have the weapons and tools to fight for the world title. I am very happy to announce that Checo will become world champion at some point.

Antonio believes his son has everything it takes to become competitive again and fight for titles in Formula 1. Despite Checo’s recent struggles and his car not performing at championship level, his father remains confident in his son’s potential.
Christian Horner emphasizes Sergio Perez really has to ‘step up’ for Constructors’ Championship
While Max Verstappen continues to score points, Sergio Perez struggles with inconsistent results and currently sits eighth in the World Championship. Last year, Perez finished second, but the competition has intensified significantly since.

With Ferrari’s pace also improving, they’re now challenging for second place after McLaren, creating more pressure on Red Bull. Team principal Christian Horner stated that Perez must make significant improvements to avoid being overtaken by Ferrari.
McLaren also has two drivers with very little difference between them. So you know, that’s where Checo really has to step up, for the Constructors’ Championship.

With five races, including two sprints, remaining in the season, Red Bull is focusing on improving their car to maximize points. They aim to hunt down McLaren in the Constructors’ Championship by overturning the 40-point between them.
