WWE’s trip to Perth for Crown Jewel 2025 proved to be a massive success, delivering unforgettable matches and moments in front of a lively 13,000+ crowd at the RAC Arena. The event featured dominant performances from Roman Reigns, John Cena, and Rhea Ripley, marking a major improvement over the company’s last PLE, Wrestlepalooza.

One of the standout highlights was Cena’s masterclass against AJ Styles, which saw him pay tribute to legends like Bray Wyatt, Sting, The Miz, and The Undertaker in what could be one of his final great performances. However, the night equally belonged to the high-voltage main event clash between Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins

The reigning World Heavyweight Champion finally broke his losing streak against Rhodes. Rollins, who entered the bout 0-3 in singles matches against ‘The American Nightmare,’ delivered a career-defining win in a thrilling 30-minute battle. The match started with Rollins briefly distracted by the crowd, but he quickly regained focus, countering a Cody Cutter into a powerbomb.

The momentum shifted multiple times. Rhodes hit a vertebreaker followed by another Cody Cutter, but Rollins countered with a Pedigree and even hit a Cross Rhodes of his own. After a sequence of Pedigrees and Curb Stomps, Rhodes still refused to stay down. A frustrated Rollins then grabbed a Rolex from ringside but initially hesitated to use it.

Rhodes capitalized with a Cody Cutter and Cross Rhodes, but Rollins turned the tide again, landing a stunning coast-to-coast diving headbutt on Rhodes. The action intensified as Rollins hit a Spanish Fly and Rock Bottom, but Rhodes kicked out yet again. In a dramatic finish, Rhodes connected with a super Cross Rhodes off the top rope, but Rollins miraculously survived.

With the referee momentarily down after an accidental bump, Rollins finally used the Rolex to strike Rhodes, then sealed the deal with a Curb Stomp. This was followed by another from the second rope to earn the long-awaited victory in an instant classic that had the Perth crowd on its feet.

Following the match, an emotional yet defiant Rollins snatched the microphone from Cathy Kelly, proclaiming himself the greatest to ever do it. Moments later, Triple H entered the ring to personally present Rollins with the Crown Jewel Championship, cementing his victory as one of the defining moments of his career.

Meanwhile, Stephanie Vaquer joined Rollins in celebration after capturing the Women’s Crown Jewel Championship, defeating Tiffany Stratton in a hard-fought battle to claim her spot among WWE’s elite.

Triple H gets bombarded by WWE fans in Perth with demands to bring back Adam Copeland

It is safe to say that the crowd in Perth put the usual United States crowds to shame. This fact was evident during the event and even after the proceedings were done. Triple H found himself in an awkward moment after Crown Jewel when fans inside the RAC Arena broke out into loud ‘We Want Edge!’ chants, referring to WWE Hall of Famer and current AEW star Adam Copeland.

The chants came during the Crown Jewel Post-Show, where he appeared to discuss the event’s results and highlights. As he began speaking, host Peter Rosenberg casually mentioned Edge’s name, instantly triggering the crowd to erupt in chants demanding to see the Rated R Superstar, presumably as John Cena’s rumored final opponent.

Trying to defuse the situation, Triple H responded with a smirk and the line, “You can’t have him.” The WWE Universe wasn’t ready to stop there, however. As ‘The Game’ continued his remarks, fans began singing Edge’s iconic theme song, ‘Metalingus’ by Alter Bridge, filling the arena.

Despite the playful heckling, Triple H remained composed, reminding the audience that not every dream match can happen. The timing of the chants couldn’t have been more fitting. John Cena’s final WWE match is officially set for December 13, 2025, at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, D.C.

Many fans have long hoped for one last showdown between Cena and the erstwhile Edge, two of WWE’s most storied rivals. However, with Copeland currently signed to AEW, the dream seems out of reach for now.

Speculation only grew after AEW All Out last month, when Copeland paid tribute to Cena during his tag match with FTR, reigniting hopes of one last encounter. But those hopes were quickly dashed when reports confirmed Copeland’s temporary hiatus was due to Hollywood commitments, not a WWE return.

Back at the post-show, Triple H moved past the chants and took a moment to praise Cena’s match against AJ Styles, calling both men two of the greatest performers of their generation. And while a Cena–Edge reunion seems unlikely, the crowd’s passionate reaction proved one thing: the WWE Universe still hasn’t given up on seeing that rivalry close on the biggest stage one more time.
