Captain America: Brave New World is set to release this Valentine’s Day, generating significant excitement among fans. Interestingly, the WWE Universe had an extra reason to anticipate the film due to the involvement of former WWE Champion Seth Rollins. In a recent revelation, The Visionary revealed that creative changes caused his role to be cut from the MCU movie.

In an interview with Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Seth Rollins confirmed that he is no longer part of Captain America: Brave New World. Rollins emphasized that he did not want his fans buying tickets in the hope of seeing him in the film. By addressing the matter directly, he aimed to dispel any misinformation about his role.

I don’t want to misinform anybody, I don’t want to lead anybody astray. I am not in the film. It should be a good one.

Speculation swirled that Rollins would portray King Cobra, a notable antagonist for Captain America. However, due to undisclosed creative changes, Marvel decided to pivot from that storyline, reshaping the narrative for Anthony Mackie‘s Captain America. Despite his removal from the project, The Architect expressed confidence that the film would still stand out as a top entry from Marvel.

Speaking on Insight, The Architect confirmed that without Punk’s injury, they would have headlined Night 1 of WrestleMania in Philadelphia. He admitted that The Second City Saint’s injury inadvertently protected Cody Rhodes‘ storyline, and his mission to finish the story.

It would have been Seth Rollins and CM Punk I believe. But then you’ve got The Rock and his introduction into that story right after Royal Rumble. But he comes in and kind of didn’t really understand the scope of what he was messing up I don’t think.

Furthermore, Rollins admitted uncertainty about how The Rock would have fit into the mix, further complicating the creative direction. He went on to call Punk’s injury a blessing in disguise for several superstars, including the former AEW star himself. The setback allowed Punk to craft an incredible storyline with Drew McIntyre, which might not have been possible otherwise.
