The recent injuries of Penta and Sheamus have refreshed the previous setback of Seth Rollins in the fans’ memories. As is known, the former 6-time world champion hurt his left shoulder in October at Crown Jewel while wrestling Cody Rhodes. Even though Rollins snapped his losing streak against Rhodes, it cost him a shoulder and months of injury layoff consequently.

Speaking on Something’s Burning with Bert Kreischer, the former Vision leader gave an insight into his road to recovery. He’s still about a month away from shedding the arm sling, and once that happens, he expects to give himself a brief stretch of true downtime before easing back into serious training.

He isn’t anticipating an instant return to peak condition. Instead, he’s preparing for a slow, disciplined ramp-up that could take eight to twelve weeks—a stretch he jokes will require cutting out the comfort food and resetting his routine. With WrestleMania season arriving quickly, February is the point he’s targeting to fully refocus and push himself back into competitive shape.

Medical guidance places his return somewhere around the six-month mark, which could mean April, but even Rollins has acknowledged that the timeline is still fluid. Last month, ‘The Architect’ claimed on Good Morning Football that he’s going to be sidelined for six months, which he has reaffirmed.

It’d be a dream-come-true scenario for Rollins and his fans if he manages to come back in time for a proper match at WrestleMania 42. However, even if the Iowa native gets cleared for in-ring competition just before Mania in Vegas, WWE could strategically hold his return off until the day of the show.

Could Seth Rollins possibly crash Roman Reigns’ WrestleMania 42 match?

As of a few months ago, Seth Rollins was reportedly penciled in to face his former Shield brother Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42. It could’ve been for the World Heavyweight Championship, given Rollins was holding the title and it didn’t look like WWE had plans for him to drop it until the injury bug got to him.

But even if ‘The Visionary’ had presumably lost the title to someone like Bron Breakker, which had been discussed internally, Rollins could’ve easily gone on to beef with Reigns in a non-title feud. This year at WrestleMania, Rollins pinned ‘The Tribal Chief’ in a fantastic triple-threat match also featuring CM Punk.

After Paul Heyman double-crossed Reigns and Punk, the WWE Hall of Famer shockingly joined forces with Rollins. It allowed Becky Lynch‘s husband to register another pinfall over his career-long rival. And that’s something ‘The OTC’ was longing to avenge. It was definitely in the cards for WrestleMania in 2026, but with Rollins currently on the shelf, WWE would have to alter its direction for the ex-Bloodline leader.

If not Rollins, the next obvious choice for Reigns’ WrestleMania opponent is none other than CM Punk. They’re inevitably going to stand across from each other in the near future. ‘The Second City Saint’ has yet to wrestle ‘The Head of the Table’ in a singles match since his WWE return in 2023.

What bigger stage would it be than the two-night wrestling extravaganza in Sin City next year for them to lock horns? In fact, on Raw this week, Reigns even teased going after either of the two world titles soon, with both CM Punk and Cody Rhodes on The OTC’s radar.

Although it’s mere speculation at this point, some fans are anticipating that Seth Rollins could directly return at WrestleMania to interfere in Reigns’ potential match with Punk. It’s important to note that ‘The Visionary’ also has some unfinished business with ‘The Second City Saint’ as well. It’d be interesting to see how WWE would insert Rollins back into its programming once he’s good to go.
