- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored a game-high 37 points in the Thunder's 120-107 win over the Suns.
- Dillon Brooks and SGA exchanged words during the game, highlighting their competitive rivalry.
- The Thunder now lead the playoff series 2-0 as they head to Phoenix for the next games.
Another Phoenix Suns game and another Dillon Brooks beef. This time, it was against his international teammate, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
There is no stopping the reigning MVP at the moment as he led the Oklahoma City Thunder to a convincing 120-107 victory over the Suns in game two at the Paycom Center on Wednesday night.
During the second quarter, SGA went one-on-one with Brooks and hit a midrange jumper over the Suns forward. After the bucket, SGA let Brooks know he had him.

Very few would have anticipated that Dillon Brooks would be a culture setter when he moved to the Phoenix Suns in the offseason. He has earned praise from the NBA community for his performances this season, leading the Suns to the playoffs.
However, for all his performances, he has continued to live up to the “villain” tag. Brooks has built a controversial reputation over the years for his questionable plays and for going at it with various stars in the league.
On Wednesday, Brooks had a few intense and chippy moments with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. SGA letting Brooks know after scoring over him was more of a reaction. A minute earlier, Brooks exchanged a few words with the Thunder guard after playing some solid defense on him. Hence, it was only fitting for SGA to score one over the Suns star.
Fans react to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander taking it to Dillon Brooks
Several top defenders in the league have tried various methods to stop Shai Gilgeous-Alexander from getting what he wants, but to no avail. The Canadian star is on track to average 30+ points per game for four consecutive seasons. Therefore, it did not matter what defense Brooks played on him; SGA was always going to have the last laugh, as elite offense always beats elite defense.
However, NBA fans saw the sequence of events across social media and were quick to react to what was happening.

Both players are teammates when on international duty, but there was no love lost when they went head-to-head on Wednesday. It is the playoffs, and fans love it when there is some banter involved.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on his exchange with Dillon Brooks
There is no doubt that Dillon Brooks has elevated himself to one of the best two-way players in the league this season. He is known for playing physical defense on his opponents and did so against Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. However, SGA still finished the game with a game-high 37 points to go along with five rebounds and nine assists.

After the game, SGA spoke to the media about his exchange with Brooks in the second quarter.
I think he blocked my shot in transition. Then I tried to pass it, and it got tipped out of bounds, and he was screaming and hollering, and he was doing his usual antics, and then I scored on him and let him hear it a little bit.

The Thunder have secured a 2-0 lead and have protected home court advantage. Brooks and the Suns will need to be at their very best as the series moves to Phoenix for games three and four.
