It was a difficult night for Kevin Durant and the Rockets in game two. While Durant scored 23 points with six rebounds and four assists, he also committed nine turnovers in 41 minutes. The Lakers were well prepared for the Rockets’ forward. With Durant struggling, Micah Parsons suggested some help for the 37-year-old.
Many were critical of the Lakers’ chances heading into the postseason after a hamstring injury ruled out Luka Doncic for the first round. To add to their woes, Austin Reaves hurt himself as well, but is expected to be back later in the series. With their two top scorers missing, it was up to a 41-year-old LeBron James to carry the workload.
Some believed that the Lakers were lucky in game one after Durant was ruled out. Unfortunately, his return for game two was far from ideal. With Durant having a hard time in game two, the Lakers are in a comfortable position as they get ready to play the next two games in Houston.
Fans react to Micah Parsons trying to get help for Kevin Durant
While Kevin Durant is the primary scorer for the Rockets, he took just 12 shots on Tuesday. Three players had more field goal attempts, including Tari Eason, who came off the bench. It shows that Durant wasn’t very aggressive and was forced to give up the ball more often than not.
While Parsons tweeted in support of Durant, fans were quick to react to his comments on social media.
KD the reason they lost bruh. 9 turnovers

Kevin Durant finished with more turnovers (9) than made field goals tonight (7). He still got to 23 points—but just 3 came after halftime in a situation where the Lakers didn't have their 2 primary scorers from the 2026 season…

Fans called out Parsons and blamed Durant for the loss. The Rockets’ star was supposed to uplift the team after their game one loss, but things did not work out for them.
Kevin Durant can take over a series
There is little to no doubt that Kevin Durant will bounce back strongly in Houston. The Rockets will need their top scorer to be at his best to prevent being down 3-0.

After the game, Lakers head coach JJ Redick was asked about the defense his team put up against Durant.
We’re just getting this thing started and he’s the type of player that can take over a series. Just have to continue to have a great team defense and great activity.

The nine turnovers Durant committed is a playoff-high. The Lakers controlled how and when he got his buckets in Game Two. All eyes will be on game three on Friday as the Rockets look for their first win of the series.
