“You only get 30 days for Summer…” 4X NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal surprisingly claims ‘winning is boring’

Shaquille O'Neal

Shaquille O’Neal knows a thing or two about winning the NBA championship multiple times, such that he gave his opinion about what it feels like when you win a lot. He made this known while speaking about Klay Thompson on an episode of his podcast, “The Big Podcast With Shaq.”

The conversation was borne out of the fact that Thompson of the Golden State Warriors, according to Big Shaq, is the wild card for the Dubs come the postseason. And despite him having won four times already, he still has a desire to end his career with a bang, even if, according to Shaq, winning is boring, and you have to play a lot of games to do it over and over again.

It's just when you are older, and then you know a lot of people don't understand this: winning is boring. When you don’t have the championship, you fight for it… Everybody else gets it done in May; you're playing in May and June and July, and you only get 30 days for summer, and you don't get a chance being with your family.

Klay Thompson is fully aware that he doesn’t have much time left in the Bay Area even though he wishes to stay on and at the same time protect his sanity; fans don’t always get what we want, and according to Shaq, that is his motivation to succeed and clinch ring number five for the Warriors. Furthermore, Shaq also believes that the Warriors will shock the nation with their exploits.

However, the Warriors must first navigate two tricky single-game eliminations to compete in the playoffs properly after finishing as the 10th seed in the hotly contested Western Conference. And for Thompson, his value to the Dubs can’t be overemphasized as he averaged 17.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game.

Shaq predicts the Warriors to win over his former team, the LA Lakers

The possibility of the Golden State Warriors meeting the Los Angeles Lakers in the Play-In Tournament is 50/50, and the former NBA champion with the Lakers, Shaquille O’Neal, thinks that the Dubs would eliminate his former team. Once again, noting Klay Thompson as the X factor.

Golden State Warriors … they’re going to beat the Lakers if they play against the Lakers in the play-in.

The Dubs would seek revenge over the Lakers, who kicked them out in last season’s conference semifinals. And on a head-to-head record, the Lakers have the advantage there, the more reason why the Warriors would come guns blazing from the get-go.

Both teams have what it takes to win. They possess an experienced lineup that knows what’s at stake, and may the best team prevail.
