Under Triple H‘s regime, one of the things that have set new standards for its successors is the meticulous treatment of the company veterans, then be it mending some fences with someone like Jesse Ventura. However, the same can’t be said for a 47-year-old Sheamus, who’s been with WWE since 2009. He hasn’t had a single title reign to date since The Game took over.

Moreover, The Celtic Warrior is now growing impatient with his unexplained absence from WWE television. Taking to X, Sheamus asked the fans if they miss his weekly bangers. He even ran a hashtag clamoring to be brought back. The Irish grappler last competed in this year’s 30-man Royal Rumble match. He couldn’t trouble the field as much as he’d liked to.

It’s been over three weeks since then, and the Fella is nowhere to be found. Even though he’s not factored into creative plans for the Elimination Chamber, the former World Champion is in dire need of being placed up the WrestleMania 41 card. Last year, he missed out on Mania, as he was nursing a career-threatening neck injury.

Upon returning to WWE in April 2024, The Great White was fat-shamed. It took a while, but Sheamus regained a chiseled frame within a matter of a few weeks. He told Chris Van Vliet on Insight that he’d been pushing himself to come back in time for WrestleMania XL, but it didn’t happen.

During the conversation, Sheamus also admitted to missing his classic theme song, “Written In My Face.” WWE handed him a Def Rebel-produced theme a while ago, which the fans dislike as much as Sheamus does. He’s already asked the management to give him his original battle hymn back, but to no avail.

What has Sheamus left to do in WWE?

Being an eighteen-year veteran in WWE, there’s so much that Sheamus has accomplished. He’s comfortably a future Hall of Famer, but it might not happen until he becomes a Grand Slam Champion. It would need him to win the Intercontinental title, the only accolade that has eluded him his entire career.

He’s come agonizingly close to becoming an IC Champion on numerous occasions. The latest instance being last month’s Saturday Night’s Main Event. At the WWE/NBC special, the former League of Nations member fell short to Bron Breakker.

One would imagine if there’s one thing he’d like to chase at WrestleMania 41, it’s the Intercontinental Championship. That’s probably the only goal Sheamus has right now, which the fans also believe has been long overdue for him.
