The latest episode of Raw saw Bron Breakker and Sheamus get into a tussle. Both superstars wanted a shot at Sami Zayn‘s Intercontinental Championship and got into a heated argument on the mic. They decided to settle their differences with a match later that night. The match was so brutal that Michael Cole thought one of the wrestlers had died.
During the match, The Irishman was standing alongside the announce table. Bron Breakker decided to strike as he got up on the apron and dived towards his opponent. He landed a flying clothesline on Sheamus, sending both superstars over the table, and disrupting the entire commentary setup.
Both Pat McAfee and Michale Cole were amazed by Breakker’s athleticism and were concerned for the former WWE Champion after the bump taken by him. The commentating veteran exclaimed that Sheamus may even be dead after that bump.
The Celtic Warrior later posted a clip of the match on his X account. Further, he captioned the video saying that reports of his death were greatly exaggerated, a quote by Mark Twain. He also went on to win the match via disqualification after interference from Ludwig Kaiser.
Michael Cole comments about a future WWE appearance by Ricochet
During the match on Raw, the two commentators discussed Breakker’s antics over the past few weeks. They mentioned how the former NXT Champion had decimated Ricochet the past week. He was beaten up so badly that the former Speed Champion had to be stretchered away. His fiance, Samantha Irvin, was bawling her eyes out at the scene and joined her future husband in the ambulance as he was taken away.
Michael Cole said that Breakker had made such quick work of Ricochet that he was unsure whether they would see him again. This line is a part of WWE writing the Highlight of the Night off TV. Reportedly, the 35-year-old refused to re-sign with the company after his contract expired.
Thus, the Stamford-based promotion wrote him off TV with a brutal beatdown by Bron Breakker. The former Intercontinental Champion was already involved in a feud with him and Ilja Dragunov. Thus, not only did the segment achieve its role of writing him off TV, but it also made the former NXT Champion look like a monster.
