Sheamus has rightfully earned his status as a legend, having competed in the ring consistently for over 15 years. Through his career-reviving rivalry with Gunther, the Celtic Warrior proved that he is still an important asset to the company. His contract was set to expire in 2024, but according to several reports, he will continue to entertain the WWE Universe for many more years to come.
According to PWInsider, Sheamus has signed a new long-term deal with WWE, which will keep him with the company for the next 3 to 5 years. The 46-year-old veteran was among several top wrestlers whose contracts were set to expire in 2024. Stars like Randy Orton, Shayna Baszler, and Seth Rollins have also renewed their deals. Nonetheless, the WWE Universe is happy to know that The Celtic Warrior isn’t going anywhere.
The Great White has been involved in a rivalry with Pete Dunne, who has been attacking him repeatedly. On the latest episode of Raw, Sheamus faced Braun Strowman and Ludwig Kaiser in a triple threat match. Unfortunately, he was attacked by the formerly known Butch with a shillelagh. The Monster Among Men then gained the upper hand and leveled the German star with a flying chair shot before finishing the match off with a running powerslam.
Interestingly, Dunne has already qualified for the No. 1 contender’s fatal 4-way match for the Intercontinental Championship. He defeated The Miz and Xavier Woods in a triple threat match on the August 26th episode of Raw.
The Bruiserweight is set to face Ilja Dragunov, Jey Uso, and Strowman to earn a shot at the champion, Bron Breakker, for the title. Having said that, it wouldn’t be surprising if Sheamus interfered in the match and ruined it for his former friend.
Sheamus evaluates his run on WWE SmackDown on Fox
WWE SmackDown’s move to Fox five years ago marked the show’s return to Friday nights. Fans experienced many great and historic moments while also witnessing some bizarre ones. One of the standout stars of that era was Sheamus, who won fans over with his hard-hitting bangers.
Sean Ross Sapp from Fightful shared a post on X about the end of the WWE on Fox era. He asked fans about their favorite and least favorite moments from that time. The 46-year-old veteran responded, stating that he had many classic matches during that era. Most notably, Sheamus came close to winning the Intercontinental Championship against Gunther in their second match.

Fans in the comment section supported him and admitted that he was one of the best stars of the era. Unfortunately, despite participating in many banger matches, The Great White failed to win any titles. Thankfully, the WWE Universe will get to watch him wrestle and likely capture some gold for a few more years.
