Shedeur Sanders answered his haters in style after the Colorado Buffaloes secured their first win of Deion Sanders’ second year as the head coach. They came back from behind to record a 31-26 victory over a strong North Dakota State side on Thursday.

The tension was high but Colorado has always possessed the confidence to take on any team they face. Sanders, like last year, announced that they were ready for anything. In fact, in his words, the Buffs are every other college football team’s Super Bowl.

He certainly proved that the Buffs mean business by recording 26/34 for 445 passing yards, 4 touchdowns, and 1 interception. Sanders is well and truly pushing for the #1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

North Dakota started the game better compared to the Buffs and went into halftime with a 20-14 lead. However, Sanders’ team stormed back into the game scoring two quickfire touchdowns in the third and fourth quarter through Travis Hunter, making it hard for the side that won 11 games in 2023 to make a late comeback of their own.

The Bison did put together a strong last drive but eventually came up short despite quarterback Cam Miller throwing a hail mary. While Sanders dominated with his passing, Hunter made the most of it at the other end recording 132 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns.

The Buffaloes will face the Nebraska Cornhuskers in their next game. The Huskers are on a rebuilding path after finishing last season with only 5 wins and 7 losses. One of those defeats came at the hands of Shedeur Sanders and the Buffaloes in week 2. Sanders that day completed 31 passes for 393 yards and 2 touchdowns while Xavier Weaver, who now plays in the NFL for the Arizona Cardinals, caught 10 passes for 170 yards and 1 touchdown. However, unlike last time they will travel to Nebraska (a hostile territory) which would make the game even harder for them.

Sanders wants to succeed with the Buffs and make it a feared college program before making the jump to the NFL. According to SB Nation, the Bisons were the easiest game for the Buffaloes this season. It will only get tougher as each week passes. Eventually, they have to play against Oklahoma Sooners, Kansas State, Colorado State, Cincinnati and Baylor.
