Omarion Miller announced his return to Colorado football with a banger. The Buffaloes wide receiver’s first reception of the season was no short of a collector’s item.

On a third-and-short from the Buffaloes’ own 42-yard line, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who was 12/21, launched a laser aimed at Miller across the midfield. Miller caught the ball, but the Baylor player immediately positioned himself between him and the red zone.

However, Miller had other ideas. The Baylor corner went for a low tackle to stop the Buffs’ wideouts run, who quickly maneuvered his body and evaded the attack to score a 58-yard touchdown. The on-field referee awarded the TD but waited for the TV officials to confirm the legitimacy.

It took several reviews to make sure any part of Miller’s legs or shoulder touched the ground during the tackle. Eventually, the original call was deemed valid, and the Buffs reduced the deficit to 16-24.

Omarion Miller was a four-star prospect coming out of school

Miller played at North Caddo High School under head coach John Kavanaugh. He finished his career their with 154 catches for 3,492 yards and 43 touchdowns in 30 games, averaging 116.4 yards per game and 22.7 yards per catch.

Additionally, he ran 16 times for 193 yards and three touchdowns on offense. He also returned kicks, recording a 98-yard touchdown, one punt return for 70 yards, and two interceptions for 127.

After school, Miller committed his allegiance to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. However, because of the changes in the college program under Matt Rhule, the 6’2″ wide receiver opted to enter the transfer portal and try his luck elsewhere.

I would like to thank the coaches and staff that recruited me during this process. In light of the many changes at the University of Nebraska, I have decided to decommit and open up my recruitment.

Miller joined Colorado last year

After leaving Nebraska, Buffs head coach Deion Sanders recruited him for his new and revamped Colorado side, ready to take on the Pac-12. He looked promising, and his seven catches for 196 yards and a touchdown against the USC Trojans is a freshman record for the Buffs program.

Miller ended his rookie season in college football with 11 receptions for 234 yards and one touchdown. There was much hype surrounding him going into his sophomore year, but he barely got a lookout in the first three games of the 2024 season until his involvement on Saturday against Baylor.
