Shedeur Sanders is a top-3 prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft, but before he leaves, the 22-year-old quarterback has a brilliant plan to secure Colorado’s future as a powerhouse of college football. Sanders aims to strike a good NIL deal for the Buffaloes before making the switch to the big league.
On Black Friday, Sanders and the Buffaloes thrashed the Oklahoma State Cowboys 52-0 at home, finishing the season with a 9-3 record. He completed 34-of-41 passes for 438 yards with five touchdowns and one pick, writing his name in the school’s history books as the single-season passing yards leader with 3,926 yards.
This will be Sanders’ final year in Colorado, so when reporters asked him about the Buffs’ future after his departure, the former four-star prospect said he would make sure that the team remains competitive.

The Buffaloes have a chance to play in the Big 12 Championship game as well as the playoffs. So, it’s the end for Sanders in Colorado just yet.
How much does Shedeur Sanders make through his NIL deal?
NIL, or Name, Image, and likeness, changed the college football scenario completely. Brand deals ensured the influx of money, making it easier for teams to build a good team. Sanders is among the torchbearers of the revolution.
According to On3.com, Sanders has a NIL evaluation of $6.2 million, which is the highest among college athletes. That’s more than his Colorado teammate Travis Hunter, LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne, and Texas QB Arch Manning.
Sanders has a NIL deal with Gatorade, Beats by Dre, AT&T, KFC, Oikos, and Mercedes-Benz.
He and his older brother Shilo Sanders bought their father and the head coach of Colorado, Deion Sanders, a villa earlier this year from the money they earned.
Moreover, Sanders has an extensive fan following on social media, including close to 2 million subscribers on YouTube and over 600,000 on TikTok.
Shedeur joined Colorado with his father in 2023 after playing for two years at Jackson State. In four years of college ball, Sanders has a total of 38 wins and 12 losses. He can call the curtain on his college career with a couple of trophies in the next few months.
