Indian badminton player Jwala Gutta and film actor Vishnu Vishal got engaged on Monday (September 7). It was a special birthday for Gutta, who turned 37 on Monday and her boyfriend surprised her with an engagement ring.
The actor took to social media and announced his engagement with the 2010 Commonwealth Gold medalist.
“Happy birthday @jwalagutta1 New start to live. Let’s are positive and work towards a better future for us, Aryan, our families, friends and people around..Need all your love n blessings guys..#newbeginnings thank you @jainbasanth for arranging a ring in d middle of d night #EngagementRingJugaad,” Vishnu posted on his Instagram page on Monday.

Speaking to Hyderabad Times after the engagement, Vishnu said, “I wanted to do something special for Jwala for her birthday and then at the spur of the moment, I thought why not surprise her by popping the question. It was something we had discussed before and last night, it just felt like the right moment. It was a spontaneous gesture and thankfully, she said yes.”
The ace shuttler, Jwala, is looking forward to start a new phase of her life with Vishnu.
“We have both been very serious about each other and engagement was long overdue. But I didn’t expect Vishnu to pop the question on my birthday. It was truly a special surprise and it feels surreal right now,” she said.
In 2016, she represented India at the Uber Cup in China. The Arjuna Awardee also participated at the Olympics in Rio with Ashwini Ponnappa.
