A few days ago, a major online spat erupted between Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles and former PENN University swimmer Riley Gaines regarding a transgender athlete issue. The gymnast seems to have now deleted her X account.
The war of words between these two began after Gaines called out a softball team. The ex-Kentucky swimmer has become an advocate for women and has often urged for the exclusion of trans athletes in women’s sports.
As reports emerged that the star player of the softball team was a trans athlete, Gaines would take a swipe at the team celebrating their win.

Biles would later slam Gaines for this. In one of her tweets, the 7-time Olympic gold medalist would call out the women’s activist and label her a “sore loser” and “bully” and claimed that no one in sports was safe around her. In another tweet, she would even take a personal jab at the former college swimmer.
While Gaines did hit back at her, the gymnast would come under tremendous heat for her takes. Many users on social media would slam Biles.
A few days later, the 28-year-old made another statement on X and apologized for her comments. Gaines would later accept the apology and urged her (Biles) to join her in her fight for fairness for girls.
Despite this, Biles continued to receive backlash for her take. The athlete has now deleted her X account. Upon checking her username, a “This account doesn’t exist” shows up on X.
