It was a big night for Caitlin Clark and her Indiana Fever teammates. They banished the ghosts of not winning against the Connecticut Sun on 11 previous occasions, using a combination of excellent team play along with great defense helped them win against one of WNBA’s super teams. This moment was made all the better when gymnastic great Simone Biles turned up to celebrate.
The 7-time Olympic gold medalist was a VIP guest at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse alongside fellow Olympic gold medalist Gabby Thomas. They were greeted with loud cheers when the Indiana Fever announcer introduced them during the game. After the Fever won, the two made their way to the entrance of the Fever locker room. Caitlin Clark entered and immediately hugged the two.
Then when the rest of her teammates came in, they were pleasantly surprised and took photos with them. But the excitement was evident when, as soon as each one took photos they were giggling or shaking in disbelief. Naturally meeting Biles, the greatest Olympic gymnast in the country, is a surreal experience for anyone.
They all watched from home as she and her teammates dominated the gymnastics routines to win medals. Being able to meet her was a moment each of them will cherish forever. Thanks to the ever-increasing popularity of the WNBA, stars such as Gabby Thomas, Simone Biles and others want to watch the women play.
