In the second quarterfinal, as expected, Jannik Sinner breezed past Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-2, 6-3 in 75 minutes.
Now it’s time for the semifinals. In the first semifinal, Fritz will clash with Carlos Alcaraz, while in the following match, Novak Djokovic will take on Sinner. The Italian is the defending champion (beat Alcaraz in the first edition). Djokovic and Alcaraz have received the first-round byes.

Jannik Sinner vs. Novak Djokovic: Match Preview
Novak Djokovic is chasing his second title of the season after his Geneva Open win. He defeated Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz to clinch the ATP 250 trophy, becoming the third man after Jimmy Connors and Roger Federer to win 100 or more singles titles.

Apart from Geneva, the 24-time Grand Slam champion also played the final of the Miami Open, but the match ended in favor of Jakub Mensik. Djokovic also reached the semifinals of all four Grand Slam events.
At the Australian Open, an injury forced him to give the walkover to Alexander Zverev, while at the French Open and Wimbledon, Jannik Sinner knocked him out in straight sets. Then at the US Open, Carlos Alcaraz secured a straight-set win.
Before arriving in Riyadh, the 38-year-old was in Shanghai for the penultimate Masters 1000 of the season. He reached the semifinals but fell in straight sets against the eventual champion, Valentin Vacherot.
Sinner failed to defend his title at the Shanghai Masters because of cramps, which forced him to give a walkover to Tallon Griekspoor in the third round. Before Shanghai, Sinner was in Beijing for the ATP 500 tournament, where he breezed past Learner Tien to claim his third title of the season.
The first two titles were Grand Slam ones: he defeated Zverev at the Australian Open and Alcaraz at Wimbledon. Sinner also played the finals of both the French Open and the US Open, losing both to the six-time Grand Slam champion.
So far this season, Sinner has played seven finals, winning three titles and losing four. Apart from the US Open and French Open, the 24-year-old also lost to Alcaraz in the finals of the Italian Open and Cincinnati Masters (gave a walkover).
Jannik Sinner vs. Novak Djokovic: Match Prediction
Sinner is in red-hot form, and only physical problems are affecting his matches. Djokovic did not enjoy great campaigns at the start of the season, but as the year progressed, he became more consistent.

Sinner will enter the semifinal as the favorite to win, given that he holds a 6-4 head-to-head lead. Not just that, the four-time Grand Slam champion also won their last five matches, including at the 2024 Australian Open and this year’s French Open and Wimbledon.
They last met at SW19. The last time Djokovic won a match against Sinner was in the summit clash of the 2023 ATP Finals. They also faced each other in the semifinals of the 2024 Six Kings Slam, which Sinner won in three sets.
Match Prediction: Jannik Sinner to win in three sets.
