The Washington Commanders acquired a highly motivated veteran wide receiver, Deebo Samuel, who is eager to prove himself once again and secure another lucrative contract. What makes this move even more impressive is that the team only had to part with a fifth-round draft pick to bring him in, making it a low-risk, high-reward transaction.

This strategic move has not gone unnoticed, especially among NFL analysts and fans. The Washington Commanders, who reached their first conference championship in around two decades are one of the best teams to look forward to in the upcoming years. The Deebo Samuel trade has significantly strengthened their roster with a key addition.

Skip Bayless, a controversial sports commentator and an outspoken supporter of the Dallas Cowboys, was particularly vocal about the trade.

Unable to contain his frustration, he took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his discontent. His latest rant was aimed squarely at Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, whom he blamed for allowing a division rival to make such a smart move.

I don’t know if you care anymore, but your in division rival Washington just went out and stole Deebo Samuel – flat out stole him – from San Francisco for a fifth round pick… You’re going to have to deal with Deebo Samuel twice a year in Washington with (quarterback) Jayden Daniels. It’s exactly what the doctor ordered for the Commanders, Jerry. Don’t you see it? He is mauler-baller. When he’s right, he is scary right.

Skip Bayless leashed out on his tirade

During his tirade, Bayless likened the Commanders’ move to a typical power play by the Philadelphia Eagles, suggesting that Washington had pulled off a franchise-altering deal. For over eleven minutes, he vented about how the Cowboys might have let a major competitor rise in their division. With this addition, the Commanders have positioned themselves as a serious threat in the NFC East, and Bayless’ reaction only reinforces that notion.

The latest mock draft suggests help is on the way for the Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys, in need of a reliable second wide receiver to pair with CeeDee Lamb, may have a golden opportunity in the upcoming NFL Draft. Arizona’s Tetairoa McMillan, once considered a surefire top-10 pick before the NFL Scouting Combine, is now projected to slide down the draft board.

In Luke Easterling’s latest mock draft for Athlon Sports, McMillan remains available at No. 12, presenting Dallas with a chance to land one of the most talented receivers in this class.

While the Cowboys have been linked to selecting a running back in the first round, Easterling suggests they could address that need later in the draft. Instead, he argues that securing a big-bodied receiver for Dak Prescott should be the priority at this stage. McMillan’s size and skill set make him an ideal complement to Lamb, giving Prescott another dynamic target in the passing game.

They can find a three-down running back on Day 2, so the Cowboys spend this pick on a towering target for Dak Prescott in the passing game.

With McMillan’s unexpected slide, Dallas may have the perfect opportunity to bolster its receiving corps and enhance its offensive firepower for the 2025 season.
