Team USA swimming star Caeleb Dressel led the men’s 4×100-meter freestyle relay final Saturday night at Paris La Defense Arena. While he fought for his 8th gold medal, the spectators fought to keep calm. Along with them were Snoop Dogg and Dressel’s wife, Meghan Dressel, with her son, August.
The Paris Olympics have been quite the time for competition and glory and tears of joy. Snoop Dogg was a fixture on NBC’s broadcast hitting it off with the families of some of the biggest stars. Snoop Dogg was spellbound as he watched Dressel, Hunter Armstrong, and the team take on Australia, Italy, and China for Olympic glory.
The camera panned to where Snoop Dogg and Megan Dressel sat as Dressel brought home the gold following Armstrong’s scorching third leg. Dressel swept his competition with ease while Snoop and Megan Dressel erupted into loud cheers. This marked a huge moment for Team USA as they won their first gold medal of the year.
Caeleb Dressel’s teammate Hunter Armstrong broke down in tears while receiving his medal at the podium. Dressel confessed to relating to Armstrong as he saw himself in him. 8 years ago, he was in the same situation on his Olympic debut in Rio. The now 27-year-old swimmer won the first of two golds alongside Michael Phelps and Nathan Adrian.
Caeleb Dressel Reporting to Father Duties Amidst Olympic Preparation
The new father talked about balancing father duties alongside prepping for the Paris Olympics 2024. With unpredictable routines, sleepless nights, and learning to swaddle, the pre-Olympic preparation had been slightly different for the 8-time gold medalist.
It's definitely a different routine, but that doesn't mean that it's bad. It's been very fulfilling and I’ve loved stepping into that role with Meghan.Caeleb Dressel told Olympics.com
Outside the water, Caeleb Dressel makes a pretty fun person. He could be seen laughing and having a good time with his teammates instead of solemnly introspecting about serious matters.
I want to be the best version of myself. I want to bring out as much potential as I possibly can and I do it with a smile because it is fun for me.Caeleb Dressel further elaborated
However, when it comes to competing, a persona takes over him as he slides into razor-sharp focus.
