Spanish Doctor believes 20 time Grandslam champion, Rafael Nadal is mentally strongest of all tennis players

Rafael Nadal will return to action once again in his beloved city of Paris as he is all set to play at the Paris Bercy Masters starting next week. The Spaniard won his 13th French Open title a couple of weeks back as he defeated Novak Djokovic in the final to continue his dominance on the red clay in Paris. Last year at the Paris Masters, the Spaniard had to withdraw unfortunately before the semifinal match due to an abdominal injury.
The Spaniard has been a victim of injuries several times during his career, which has forced him to withdraw from imprtant events. He missed the London 2012 Olympics because of knee tendinitis. He had to also cut short his 2016 season owing to a wrist injury. In an interview to Marca, Angel Ruiz Cotorro, doctor of the Spanish Tennis Federation and Rafael Nadal, claimed that the Spaniard can play for a longer time if he is not setback by injuries.
โI think that as long as the body supports him, he has enthusiasm and works every day as he is doing, because every time he plays better tennis, because we really have Rafa left for a few years. It depends on many situations, if the injuries respect him, but physically he is now very well,โย said the Spanis doctor.
Cottoro believes Nadal is possibly the mentally strongest player in the history of tennis

Spanish doctor, Angel Ruiz Cotorro believed that Rafael Nadal’s win over Novak Djokovic in the French Open final was an example of why he is the mentally strongest of all athletes. Even though the Spaniard has been let down by physical injuries, he has never let this affect his strong mentality. Back in 2015-16 when everyone believed Nadal was finished after disastrous performances and injuries, he came back in 2017 winning 2 Grandslam titles.
โCurrently, he is a player who has all these acquired routines; I think he is the mentally strongest of all the tennis players on the circuit and possibly in the history of tennis,โย said Cotorro.
Rafael Nadal will hope to secure maximum points at the Paris Bercy Masters to guarantee him a year end World number 2 ranking. The Spaniard will most probably play at the Nitto ATP Finals, although there is no official announcement on the same.
