Conor McGregor has remained one of the most controversial personalities on the UFC roster over the last decade. The former UFC double champion has beef with almost everybody, including the legendary Dustin Poirier. Irrespective of their bad blood, DP still has a certain amount of respect for ‘The Notorious.’

McGregor is going through a massive downfall given his professional career. The Irish fighter’s UFC comeback is in question given all the controversial antics surrounding him. Moreover, his scheduled comeback at UFC 303 didn’t materialize. However, Poirier believes that the ‘Mystic Mac’ can definitely pull himself out of his current situation.

I love to talk down, talk trash on Conor, but if anybody can put it all together and come back…this guy can he’s special…only he knows when he looks in the mirror if he can really do it again.

McGregor’s inactivity started when he broke his leg while fighting Poirier at UFC 264. It was their trilogy fight where he lost the fight after breaking his left leg. In order to recover from that, the Irish fighter took three years and shifted his focus away from fighting. He expanded his business and also made his Hollywood debut.

McGregor was originally scheduled to fight at UFC 303 against Michael Chandler. However, an injury ruined it. Now, his relationship with UFC is in question as he has talked about potentially fighting in BKFC. Nevertheless, amongst the potential candidates, Dustin Poirier is still a great option for McGregor’s comeback fight.

The unending rivalry between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier
