The month of January in WWE is always abuzz with discussions about the Royal Rumble and predictions for the odds-on favorite to win the 30-man match. Speculation and fan theories are already swirling about who will punch their ticket to WrestleMania, and John Cena is currently leading this conversation.
According to Sky Bet, Cena is currently the favorite to win the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble match per their betting odds. His odds currently stand at 6/5. CM Punk is right behind his former nemesis in second place, with odds of 11/4. Roman Reigns and The Rock share third place (5/1 odds). Furthermore, their WrestleMania XL rival Seth Rollins sits at fourth (12/1 odds). The top 5 is rounded out by Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton, both at 16/1 odds.
It was recently confirmed that Cena would make an appearance at Raw’s premiere on Netflix to kick off his retirement tour. Many fans have speculated that the Hollywood superstar would win a world title this year. This would make him a 17-time World Champion, and he would finally break Ric Flair‘s record. Kickstarting this feat with a Royal Rumble victory and breaking the record at the Showcase of the Immortals would be a perfect story arc.
Winning the 2025 Royal Rumble would also make John Cena only the second-ever superstar to win the Rumble thrice, with the first being ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin. Fans will have to wait till February 1st, 2025, to find out when this Big 4 PLE kicks off at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
WWE analyst Sam Roberts speculates a highly interesting way for CM Punk to win the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble Match
Amidst the Royal Rumble season, WWE analyst Sam Roberts recently talked about his predictions for the much-anticipated match. Speaking on his Notsam Wrestling podcast, he said that if Roman Reigns is not slated to win his second Rumble, then it should be none other than CM Punk.

Roberts pitched that CM Punk should open the Rumble alongside Drew McIntyre as numbers one and two. This will be a nice throwback to the widely regarded 2024 feud of the year. Furthermore, he pitched that these two superstars should also be the last two standing. Finally, the Best in the World would eliminate the Scottish Warrior and win the entire thing.
What if Punk and Drew are number one and two, and Punk and Drew are also the last two, and then Punk eliminates Drew, and he’s the winner? Yeah, yeah, could be.

As accomplished as Punk is in WWE, he has never won a Rumble and never main evented WrestleMania. 2025 could be a chance for him to do both. Perhaps this is the place where he could cash in his favor with Paul Heyman to win the 30-man match. This would finally allow him to headline the biggest wrestling show of the year.
