Stan Wawrinka found it hilarious that Jannik Sinner claimed that he did not go to Saudi Arabia to play for money. The Italian, who won the biggest prize money in the history of the sport (although it was not an official tournament) in Riyadh after winning the Six Kings Slam title, has claimed that he does not play for money.
As Sinner is headed to participate in the ATP 1000 tournament in Paris, he sat down for an interview with Eurosport wherein he talked about his rivalry with Carlos Alcaraz and the massive prize money he won in Riyadh. When asked about his feelings after getting the biggest cheque in tennis history, Sinner said he does not play for money.
The 23-year-old claimed that he went to Saudi Arabia because he did not want to miss out on the experience of playing with five top players on the tour. Sinner said that playing at the exhibition event in Riyadh helped him measure himself.
This remark from Sinner elicited an interesting response from Wawrinka. The three-time Grand Slam champion shared a laughing emoji on X, reacting to the post about Sinner’s comments.

Sinner defeated Carlos Alcaraz in the final of the Six Kings Slam to win a massive $6 million in prize money. Notably, the amount Sinner won in Riyadh is more than 20% of his career prize money so far.
