Despite her dad owning the company, Stephanie McMahon has worked her way up the WWE ladder. She started by posing for WWE catalogs in her teenage years. The former Women’s Champion also put her all into her character work on WWE programming. She even served as co-CEO and chairwoman of the company before her resignation. After spending nearly 18 months away, the Billion Dollar Princess just might be on her way back to the company.
Several fans in attendance at the latest episode of Raw spotted Stephanie McMahon in the crowd. She was also accompanied by her daughters at ringside. She was also spotted last week on SmackDown. These frequent appearances have sparked rumors of her return to the Stamford-based promotion.
Another likely explanation is that McMahon simply came to visit her husband. Boston, where the most recent episode of Raw took place, is merely a half-hour drive away from Weston, where Triple H lives with his family. Considering that The Game often spends a lot of his time away from his family on the road, they decided to take advantage of the proximity and have a family meet-up in TD Garden.
She was somewhat ostracized by the WWE Universe after being identified as a key figure in the Janel Grant lawsuit against Vince McMahon. However, she has won over the fans once again. They are generally happy to see the 47-year-old make appearances on WWE TV. If she is to make a return to the company, there is no doubt that fans and company executives will welcome her with open arms.
Why did Stephanie McMahon leave WWE?
Stephanie McMahon and her husband, Triple H, were assumed to be the ultimate power couple to lead WWE into the future after Vince McMahon‘s retirement. Although the Cerebral Assassin is still at the creative helm, his wife did not join him on this venture.
In January 2023, McMahon announced her resignation from WWE. She had been serving as the co-CEO and chairwoman of the company after her father, Vince McMahon, stepped down in July 2022 after several misconduct claims. This reinstated Vinne Mac as chairman of the company. He later claimed that his daughter was the ultimate ambassador for their company. Furthermore, her decades of contribution had left an immeasurable impact on their brand.
This news came shortly after her husband, Paul Levesque, suffered a heart problem. She stepped away from her main role as chief brand officer to focus on her family. Furthermore, she claimed that WWE was in such a strong position that it did not need her. In her resignation statement, the 47-year-old said she looked forward to cheering on WWE from the other side of the business.
