It is no secret that CM Punk burnt a lot of bridges when he suddenly left WWE in 2014, especially with the McMahon family. He has reportedly been a welcome presence backstage ever since his return and has tried to mend things with the people he ticked off. This list now also includes Stephanie McMahon following their long conversation together.

Punk was a recent guest on Stephanie’s Places, a podcast started by the former WWE CEO. Stephanie McMahon posted a clip from the interview on her X account and revealed that this was the first proper conversation that she had with the former WWE Champion since he left the company in 2014. She further expressed gratitude for his time and said that this was a way of them restarting their relationship.

These two wrestling celebrities discussed a lot of topics in detail, including Punk’s departure, his immense popularity in Chicago, and his relationship with Triple H. The 46-year-old also admitted to a lot of mistakes that he had made earlier in his life.

The Second City Saint likely had a sour relationship with Stephanie, considering his animosity with her husband, Triple H. During his infamous pipebomb, he called The Game “Vince’s doofus son-in-law” and there were reports of them not getting along well backstage. However, he has since mended his relationship with the King of Kings. In fact, Hunter’s friend Road Dogg also recently revealed that he had buried the hatchet with Punk.

CM Punk may get a live band entrance by Living Color at WrestleMania 41

CM Punk’s original theme song, “This Fire Burns,” was adored by the WWE Universe and is considered one of the best entrance themes in pro wrestling. However, “Cult of Personality” has become synonymous with the Straight Edge Superstar. He carried this theme with him to AEW, and still uses it post his WWE return.

Living Color, the band behind the iconic song, recently announced that they would be performing live in Las Vegas on April 18th. Of course, this performance would be on the WrestleMania 41 weekend, and there is a great chance that they show up at the biggest show of the year for a live entrance. Considering the high-profile match that the Best in the World is a part of, it would definitely be fitting.

This is not the first time that Living Color will accompany Punk at the biggest WWE stage. The band performed a live rendition of the song during his entrance at WrestleMania 29 when he faced The Undertaker. The band also maintains close relations with the Voice of the Voiceless himself. They even released a remastered version of the song when the 46-year-old returned to WWE in 2023.

CM Punk set for WrestleMania 41 contract signing this Friday on SmackDown

Roman Reigns returned to WWE during a steel cage match between Seth Rollins and CM Punk at Madison Square Garden. He interrupted the match and brutalized the two competitors, hinting at a triple threat match between these talents at WrestleMania 41. This match was later confirmed during the latest episode of SmackDown.

During the latest episode of Raw, Punk made a blockbuster announcement during his promo. He said that this Friday, he would meet face-to-face with Rollins and Roman Reigns for a contract signing. Furthermore, The Second City Saint addressed the possibility of adding a stipulation to the match.

If previous WWE contract signings are any precedent, this segment next Friday will be anything but peaceful. The three superstars are likely to get into a brawl. It is also highly interesting to see what role Paul Heyman will play in this whole fiasco.
