2015 featured various celebrity appearances in WWE, including Jon Stewart, who cost John Cena the WWE Championship at SummerSlam. Another celebrity present on the show was actor Stephen Amell, who even had a match. While he got along with most professional wrestlers backstage, Roman Reigns was not one of them.

Stephen Amell, famous for his role as Green Arrow on CW’s Arrow, recently sat down with Chris Van Vliet. During the conversation, he talked about his experience in the WWE locker room. He revealed that he never got along with Reigns during his stint in the company. Almost everyone backstage made the Heels actor feel included and a part of them. However, the OTC mostly kept to himself.

The 43-year-old noted that this difference in opinion was not due to any personal grudges or heated altercations between the two. Back in 2015, Roman Reigns was being pushed as the top babyface in the company, despite fans not being on board with this decision. Reportedly, he was a fairly quiet person backstage and kept to himself. This is in stark contrast to today, where The Tribal Chief is beloved by his fans and is even seen as a locker room leader backstage.

Amell would go on to compete at SummerSlam 2015. He partnered up with Neville to face the team of Cody Rhodes (then Stardust) and Wade Barrett (then King Barrett). The actor landed a crossbody on his opponent from the turnbuckle onto the floor towards the end of the match.

Shortly after, The Man Who Gravity Forgot picked up the pinfall victory after landing a Red Arrow on the 2015 King of the Ring winner. The 43-year-old never stepped into a professional wrestling ring after this bout.

Roman Reigns is once again being advertised for the season premiere of SmackDown on 13th September

Shortly after making his return at SummerSlam, Roman Reigns was advertised for a variety of SmackDown shows. This included the blue brand’s season premiere on USA Network on September 13th. However, he was later pulled from the episode’s advertising after being taken out by The Bloodline. Perhaps this was done by the company in order to not spoil his return date.

Now, the OTC has once again been advertised for the show in a post by the official WWE X account. Triple H also hinted at having many surprises planned for this season premiere, making it likely that he returns this Friday.

Reigns was also spotted on the poster for Survivor Series: War Games in Toronto. If the 39-year-old will be having his first match since WrestleMania XL in Canada, he will likely return to WWE programming soon to continue the buildup to this match.
