Stephen Curry is still one of the biggest draws in the NBA world. While he may not have the keys to the NBA like LeBron James, he has been one of the most popular figures over the last decade.

He was drafted by the Golden State Warriors in 2009 as the seventh pick. During his career, he has won numerous individual and team accolades. He is a four-time champion, along with one Finals MVP, two MVPs, two scoring titles, and so much more.

The Warriors guard is one of the world’s most marketable athletes. After endorsing Under Armour for pretty much his entire career, Curry became the new face of Li-Ning, which is a Chinese sportswear brand.

As part of the brand tour in China, Curry had an interaction with a high-tech robot during his visit to Tsinghua High School in Beijing.

Stephen Curry visited Tsinghua High School as he made his first stop in Beijing. He was welcomed to the event by a robot that was seen dancing upon his entry. Curry was clearly amused and was seen holding hands with one of the robots. He was later seen shooting free throws with another robot.

Curry signed with Under Armour back in 2013. It turned out to be the brand’s biggest-ever signing, as Curry went on to become one of the biggest athletes in the world of sport. They even built the Curry brand together in 2020. However, in a shocking turn of events, the four-time champion decided to split with the brand and became a sneaker free agent.

During the 2025-26 campaign, he was seen wearing different sneakers. After six months of being a sneaker free agent, Curry signed a 10-year deal with Li-Ning. Hence, he returned to China as the new face of one of their most popular brands.

Warriors fan mob shuts down Stephen Curry autograph session

Stephen Curry is a popular face in China. He has been a consistent visitor in the country ever since he first landed there in 2015. It was the year when he won his first championship and first MVP award. Basically, it was the year Curry announced himself to the NBA world and kickstarted the Warriors dynasty.

With over a month until the 2026-27 campaign gets underway, Curry was seen working out in his spare time. Right after his session, he was greeted by a number of fans and things got overwhelming for the 12-time All-Star.

Stephen Curry intended to turn his post-workout exit in Beijing into an autograph stop. However, fans started to press closer, and the autograph session had to end immediately. Unfortunately, it quickly got out of hand, and the crowd turned it into an evacuation as the 38-year-old left the area.

While all his previous trips were with Under Armour, his latest trip means a lot more to the Chinese fans as he is the face of Li-Ning. The brand is well established in various other sports and have now made a big move in the basketball world by signing Curry. His first Li-Ning sneakers are expected to be released next week.

Georges Niang is relieved to team up with Stephen Curry after years of guarding him

The Warriors are coming off a disappointing 2025-26 campaign after missing the playoffs for the second time in the last three years. While they were expected to make several roster changes this summer, they were one of the most passive teams in the market, failing to sign LeBron James.

They did add a few pieces to their roster, and one of them is Georges Niang. The 33-year-old signed a one-year, $3.8 million veteran minimum contract with the Dubs.

The new signing shared a few words about Stephen Curry on a podcast.

I don’t think people understand how much you worry about a guy like [Steph Curry]. There’s been so many times where we’ve been up 15 or 16 against the Warriors in the 4th quarter with 2 minutes to go, and we’re still like ‘Alright, the game’s not over.’

The expectations are low for the Warriors heading into the new season. After failing to add any star player in the summer, they are going to run back pretty much the same roster they had last season. It will be interesting to see if they make any big moves at the trade deadline next year as they look to extend Curry’s championship window.
