Stephen Thompson vs. Geoff Neal reportedly set for UFC on Dec. 19

It seems like yet another fight is looking to be added to UFC’s final event of the year. According to sources, the company is looking to finalize a bout between Stephen Thompson and Geoff Neal. The fight, if added could bolster up the card, which already has another high profile fight in Leon Edwards vs Khamzat Chimaev as the main event.
The fight would be the first time that each of the fighters enter the octagon this year. Thompson and Neal both had their last matches in November and December of 2019 respectively.
Neither fighter has fought this year

Thompson (15-4-1) has not fought yet in 2020. The 37-year-old is coming off a unanimous decision win over Vicente Luque in November 2019. The win came following his knockout loss to Anthony Pettis. Thompson is currently 2-2 in his past four, including a win over Jorge Masvidal.
Neal (13-2 MMA, 5-0 UFC), will also be fighting for the first time this year. He was scheduled to fight Neil Magny on Aug. 29 but had to withdraw because of a life-threatening infection. He is considered to be one of the fastest-rising contenders in the division. The 30-year-old arrived on the scene as a contestant on Dana White Contender Series in 2017, and has gone 5-0 with four finishes.
