The Golden State Warriors era, led by Stephen Curry and Draymond Green with Steve Kerr at the helm, seems to have come to an end. The Warriors suffered a disappointing 111-96 defeat to the Phoenix Suns in the final game of the Play-In Tournament at the Mortgage Matchup Center on Friday night.
At the end of the game, Kerr shared a moment with Curry and Green. His words were caught on the mic during a Prime Video broadcast. He said:
I don’t know what’s gonna happen next, but I love you guys to death.

There have been rumors floating around over the last few months regarding Steve Kerr‘s future. The message indicates that his tenure with the Warriors has come to an end. While he cemented himself as one of the greatest coaches in NBA history during his 12-year spell with the Warriors, he could not do it without his star players, Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.
Since Kerr joined as head coach in 2014, the Warriors have made it to six NBA Finals and won four championships. They broke the regular season record when they went 73-9 in the 2015-16 campaign.
For all his achievements with the Dubs, he was regarded for the way he handled his players and developed a positive culture in the dressing room. He has had his differences with certain players that have led to their exits, such as Jonathan Kuminga, but he has had the ability to get the best out of his players.
The Warriors were on a high after their impressive comeback win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night. After the win, Kerr said it felt like a championship win, but it may have been a hidden message that it was his last significant win with the Dubs.
Draymond Green thinks it is the last time with Steve Kerr
One player who would attest to Steve Kerr’s man-management is Draymond Green. They have had their differences, and it was seen earlier this season when the two got heated with each other during a match. But the two were able to move past it very quickly.

Green touched up on the interaction between the three in his post-match press conference.
Just appreciating this year and all the years that we’ve been together. You know, maybe the last time. So, just a short moment. It was good.
Draymond Green said
Green’s future is up in the air as well. His name came up in trade talks when the Warriors were linked to Giannis Antetokounmpo at the trade deadline. If the Warriors decide to pursue a big name in the offseason, Green may have played his final game for the Warriors on Friday.
Stephen Curry on the moment he shared with Steve Kerr
During Steve Kerr’s reign as head coach, the face of the team has been Stephen Curry. Kerr brought out the best and maximized Curry’s talents in their 12 years together. Curry won two MVPs, two scoring titles, and a Finals MVP under Kerr.
While Green believed their time together had come to an end, Curry had a different response to the moment.
I was kinda fighting it to be honest. For it to start with that conversation and that moment, it was definitely weird. We’re human beings and we have to be able to acknowledge each other in that moment, but I don’t know if that’s a signal of anything.

The Warriors’ era under Kerr may have come to an end, but with Curry still on the team, the front office will be looking to make some big moves in the offseason to extend their championship window. An eventful summer awaits the Warriors.
