Rafael dos Anjos took a swipe at Conor McGregor for congratulating Donald Cerrone, after Donald made Rafael dos Anjos himself tap twice at Chael Sonnen’s Submission Underground. Submission Underground involves fighters locked up in MMA cage, with only submissions allowed – the aim is to out-submit the opponent.

Besides congratulating Donald Cerrone, Conor had also congratulated UFC for pulling off a brilliant 2020 amidst all the adversity. Adding to that he described who honoured he was to secure the highest PPV of the year alongside Donald Cerrone. The last part of the tweet, where Conor congratulated Donald was what that triggered RDA.

“Congrats Donald, and also on his double submission win last night” – Conor McGregor via. Twitter

McGregor posted an image of his PPV event against Donald Cerrone with the caption, “Congrats to the @ufc on a well fought 2020. The only sporting company on the planet to come through the entire year! Incredible! I am honoured to secure their highest PPV of the year with McGregor Vs Cerrone. Congrats Donald, and also on his double submission win last night.”

A riled-up Rafael dos Anjos, tweeted in reply, “Stfu Connor!! Double win submission ?? It started with the armbar on. It was a fun and friendly match. I make a living with MMA and you saw what happen twice when me and Donald fought MMA.”

Rafael dos Anjos and Conor McGregor were scheduled to face-off back in March, 2016 at UFC 196, but Rafael dos Anjos withdrew due to injury and Conor instead took on Nate Diaz, against whom he suffered a shock defeat. Given that, RDA is still at the top of his game, do you fancy a match between Conor McGregor and Rafael dos Anjos?
