‘Stipe, he’s the greatest heavyweight of all time…And then Francis is just a freak when it comes to his knockout power’ – Jon Jones wary of the challenges in front of him at the heavyweight division

Jon Jones, arguably the greatest light-heavyweight in mixed martial arts history, recently moved up to the heavyweight division seeking new ventures. Although he is yet to make his heavyweight debut, fight fans are pretty confident that the UFC would land him a marquee fight against the winner of a possible bout between current heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic and number one ranked heavyweight contender Francis Ngannou.
Speaking to Bleacher Report, Jon Jones revealed that he was wary of the threat possessed by Stipe Miocic – calling him the greatest heavyweight of all time; and Cameroonian Francis Ngannou – for the freak of nature he is.
“Both fights are gigantic challenges” – Jon Jones

Talking about a possible bout against, either Stipe Miocic or Francis Ngannou, Jon Jones had nothing but respect for both of them. Speaking of which he said, “I’ll be ready for either of them. Both fights are extremely challenging. Stipe, he’s the greatest heavyweight of all time. He has all the stats and records to prove that. And then Francis is just a freak when it comes to his knockout power, and he’s improving constantly. Both fights are gigantic challenges, but that’s what I’m here for in this stage of my career: to go big and see what I’ve got.” [via Bleacher Report]
He concluded saying, “I would love to win the heavyweight championship, defend it two or three times against the top heavyweights out there, and then I’d really like to transition into humanitarian work.” [via Bleacher Report]
Jon Jones is known for his immense fight IQ. Will he be able to recreate his light-heavyweight masterpiece in the heavyweight division as well?
