Indian swimmer, Sajan Prakash was seen in action on Day Four of Tokyo Olympics, as he competed in Men’s 200m butterfly heats. The 27-year-old was in the second heat, and finished fourth among the eight swimmers in his heat.

Sajan Prakash clocked a timing of 1:57.22, whereas, the Norwegian swimmer, T.Hvas finished first with a timing of 1:56.30. It was an impressive performance from the Indian, who was just within one second of his Norwegian rival.

Sajan Prakash was the first Indian swimmer to book his Olympic berth and also became the first Indian to breach the FINA ‘A’ Olympic qualification mark. However, winning a medal was always an uphill task for the 27 year old, who failed to make it past the first round.

Only 16 swimmers make it to the semi-finals in Men’s 200m butterfly event, which is the reason Sajan Prakash missed out on a spot, as he finished on the 24th spot.

However, all is not lost for the Indian swimmer yet, as he still has one more event at Tokyo Olympics which he will compete. Sajan Prakash will participate in the Men’s 100m butterfly heats, which will be held on Thursday. He will be a part of the second heat, which has just four swimmers, and he stands a good chance to finish on top of his heat.
