The ongoing controversy around the participation of trans-athlete Lia Thomas in women’s swimming events has ignited a controversy in the entire fraternity. Meanwhile, former Olympic gold medalist Caitlyn Jenner has also come forward with her argument, citing that transgender athletes born biological males participating in women’s sports is unfair for the other participants.

“We need to protect women’s sports. I don’t know why she’s doing this.

“I respect her decision to live her life authentically. 100%. But that also comes with responsibility and some integrity. I don’t know why she’s doing this,” Jenner said on Wednesday as the NCAA board reviews its policy following the success of Thomas.

“’Woke world’ not working for women’s sports”

The 72-year-old further went on to say that Lia’s participation is not good for the transgender community as well. Notably, Thomas, 22, has been making waves in the Ivy League with her record-breaking performances while representing the University of Pennsylvania.

“She knows when she’s swimming she’s beating the competition by two laps. She was born a biological boy,” Jenner pointed out. “She was raised as a biological boy. Her cardiovascular system is bigger, her respiratory system is bigger, her hands are bigger, she can swim faster. That’s a known.”

“It’s also not good for women’s sports. It’s unfortunate that this is happening,” Caitlyn said. “All of this woke world that we’re living in right now is not working. feel sorry for the other athletes that are out there.”

“I believe we all should feel comfortable with who we are in our own skin,” she added. “But I think sports should all be played on an even playing field. I don’t know what that looks like in the future.”
