WATCH- Swimmer Riley Gaines caught in an awkward situation as Donald Trump tries to KISS her on stage

Former President Donald Trump has already been a part of quite a few embarrassing moments throughout his life. This time seemed to be another one- with swimmer Riley Gaines. The President was rightfully snubbed at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Dallas, after welcoming Gaines onto the stage for the event.

Gaines, who competed on behalf of the University of Kentucky against transgender swimmer Lia Thomas, has spoken out widely against the athlete. After being invited to the event, Gaines promptly tried to avoid a kiss that Trump tried to give her on the cheek.

Riley Gaines pulls head away in awkward move as Donald Trump tries to kiss her

In the video, Gaines seems to be pulling her head away from Trump before leaning back in slightly. Trump appears to have then said something in the swimmer’s ear, after which Gaines gave her speech to say she is fighting to keep “female sports female.” As she finished her remarks, she thanked Trump and he appeared to try a second time to give her a kiss on the cheek.

“Is this really happening?” Gaines recalled saying. “We’re sitting there not even knowing who to talk to, who to complain to, because this kind of all happened behind the scenes and very discreetly,” said Gaines in the speech talking about Lia Thomas.
