6ft-6inch Zion Williamson is an American basketball player, currently playing as a power forward for NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans. He’s a 2-time NBA All-star who is renowned since his college days for his proficiency under the rim.
Zion Williamson’s early life
Zion Williamson was born on July 6, 2000, in Salisbury, North Carolina. He initially attended Spartanburg Day School in South Carolina where he played high school basketball. Raised in a background of basketball players, Zion learned his way through the sport from his stepfather Lee Anderson, a former collegiate basketball player. In 2018, he committed to Duke University under popular coach Mike Krzyzewski.
When was Zion Williamson drafted?
Williamson ended his time with the Duke Blue Devils with a dominant closing season. He received the Naismith National Player of the Year and got drafted by the New Orleans Pelicans as the first overall pick in 2019.
