Islam Makhachev has shared a long-standing partnership with manager Ali Abdelaziz throughout his dominant rise in the UFC. Abdelaziz’s latest trash talk targeted Makhachev’s UFC 330 opponent, Ian Garry, following the Irishman’s recent signing with Matchroom Talent Agency.

Garry recently signed with Eddie Hearn‘s Matchroom Talent Agency before challenging Makhachev for the UFC welterweight title at UFC 330. The agreement covers Garry’s commercial and marketing interests, while Vayner Sports continues handling his UFC management and contract negotiations.

However, Garry’s personal life again came under scrutiny after his High Performance podcast appearance. A user claiming to be Garry’s brother publicly rejected the Irishman’s abusive childhood claims. Abdelaziz then took aim at Hearn, mocking his attempts to improve Matchroom’s newest signing’s public image.

Eddie Hearn got hired by Ian Machado Garry to fix his image. How’s that working out? His image isn’t looking too good right now. I wouldn’t hire either one of them to do my laundry. What a clown show.

Abdelaziz has often been accused of running social media accounts belonging to several fighters he manages. Similar claims previously surfaced involving Makhachev and Khabib Nurmagomedov during online exchanges. However, the latest jab at Garry and Hearn came from Abdelaziz’s own account, not Makhachev’s.

During the podcast, Garry claimed his mother physically abused him and opposed his MMA career. An account identifying itself as Sean Garry publicly disputed those allegations afterward. The account claimed Garry sought sympathy and had distanced himself from his parents and family.

This is not the only controversy surrounding Garry during his UFC career. Critics have repeatedly questioned his relationship with his wife, Layla Anna-Lee, because of their age gap and her previous marriage. Garry has consistently dismissed those criticisms while continuing to defend his family publicly.

Makhachev has also weighed in on the challenge awaiting him against Garry at UFC 330. The reigning champion dismissed Garry’s striking, arguing his attacks have not consistently troubled elite opposition. Makhachev remains confident ahead of his first welterweight title defense despite Garry’s impressive recent run.

Eddie Hearn also remains at odds with UFC CEO Dana White because of their long-running promotional rivalry. That adds another layer to the British promoter’s partnership with Ian Garry before UFC 330. Makhachev will now focus on defending his welterweight title inside the Octagon.
